When you are having a celebratory gathering, it may be a splendid idea to find a suitable centerpiece that will brighten up the table, and allow your guests to discuss your decoration, while showing off the decadent food on display. For many festivities, the best use of a centerpiece is a focal point on the theme of the holiday, and the food that is typically found. In this way, a dried apple centerpiece is often a fitting concept as apples can be used at many times of the year, especially those at the later times of the calendar.

For a centerpiece, the dried apples will add color and warmth to your table, while any external additions to your apples such as flowers, candles, glitter, ribbons or even other food items will enhance the decoration and allow you to create an item that will be the envy of your guests. You may decide to give these away as gifts, or even inspire others to create similar works of art.

For a candle holder, you will simply need to take dried apple slices that should have been cooked in the oven, and stacking them on top of each other so that the candle slots nicely in the hole. You may wish to alter the style of the holder by cutting the slices in half and creating a circular wall with varying hole sizes. Either way will look divine, and there will also be the option of adding the extras into the mix. For example, glitter could be dripped onto the glue as it is setting, or flowers and leaves can be inserted into the gaps that the apples leave. With this unique design, there is a multitude of options that can enhance the look of the apples and ensure that the candle sits securely in the center of the table.

As an alternative to the candle holder, you could create flowers by taking some of the dried slices and rolling them or shaping them around a toothpick until they resemble rose heads. You can use bay leaves or pressed tree leaves in order to finish the look. These then go in a bowl and sprinkled with glitter in order to really allow the decoration to shine. This centerpiece is extremely versatile as the flowers will not look uniform, and they can be either painted different colors or left as they are. Or you can slot the toothpicks in green straws, and place in a clear vase with marbles or colored stones.

For many home decorating projects, the apple has been a favorite. They are easy to draw and recreate, and can be purchased in many different forms such as foam, wood or plastic. It should come as no surprise to find that you can use the real fruit in other areas of decorating too. As long as the fruit is sufficiently dried and preserved with a layer of varnish, it should be maintained for several years and will look divine against any backdrop.
